Head of Service

We are pleased to announce that Jean Smith has joined us as Head of Service at FSG.

Jean has worked in fostering and adoption since 1984 and has been a foster carer for children and young people for 18 years. Jean has experience in fostering, adoption and therapeutic services and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Having been a foster carer I believe it has helped me to have a good understanding of fostering from a foster carers point of view as well as the agency prospective, I genuinely know how it feels to be a foster carer and understand the challenges fostering brings. I am child focussed and strive to ensure the services I manage are providing excellent services for children and that foster carers feel supported, valued and a member of the team”.

Jean’s vision for FSG is to continue with the good work and enhance and develop the agency. Her aim is to make sure foster carers are proud to be part of the FSG team and children and young people receive stable high-quality placements, where there is real evidence of their ability to form secure attachments and achievements.

FSG Award Ceremony 2017

On Saturday 10th June 2017 FSG held its annual award ceremony where careres and staff met for a three course meal and evening’s entertainment.

The awards acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our foster carers. who help improve the lives of young people within their care.

All carers were invited and we had people from Kent, Sussex and London attend the event.

A warm welcome was given to the new Head of Service Jean Smith who started with us in May, our foster carers were particularly pleased that Jean is a foster carer herself having 18 years’ experience!

Well done to all the award winners and a huge thank you to everyone who attended for making the evening a great success. We are already looking forward to next year’s ceremony.
